Birkeland Innovation is the technology transfer office at the University of Oslo. Birkeland proactively contribute to build an innovative culture at the university, secure, administer and refine intellectual property rights (IPR) for the University of Oslo, and perform knowledge and technology transfer through licensing and company creation.

 

Birkeland Innovations mission is to encourage effective technology transfer for the

public benefit and generate value from science.

 

Universities are an increasingly vital source of knowledge and technology. Birkeland Innovation helps to facilitate the flow of this knowledge and competence into the

society, industry and commercial sector. Birkeland facilitate research and innovation processes between the university and industry, and help existing industry in their

search for new technology from the university.
